It starts slowly, this album. "Takk", the title track of this album, represents a kind of warm-up end Overture for "Takk" album. You can hear some strings, but do not play a melody, but only a sound carpet spread for an incredibly intense bass, who will be present on the album - although not always at the forefront. "Takk" has a hard time, in addition to over albums "()" and "Agaetis Byrjun" to exist, too intense, too melancholy, too perfect they shall come. Therefore, it is an even more positive surprise that "Takk" a tiny bit more accessible and easier to appear as its predecessors, without letting this missing of emotionality. The sound was as it were dusted carefully and will therefore very fresh. In this album there are melodic fragments that are to die for and seemingly naturally arise between the vocals and the guitar worn walls and various sound experiments and the orchestra. The piano melody on "Hoppipolla" is one such example and reminds you to "()" and "Agaetis Byrjun" without being plagiarized. The only downer: The such a beautiful book-shaped case is unique and this alone: a shell. Unfortunately, there is a booklet or the like, but in the face of music I can live without that. "Takk" is a beautiful, a sad, a wonderful album. One of my big highlights this year and consistent for the fall.
