First thing first: I am a huge Twilight fan and that I think The Host of Stephenie Meyer's best work, is one of the greatest compliments I can make a book. I actually read a lot of books, I think it's great, but The Host is really my favorite book. The story is captivating and the perspective is added at the first reading at the beginning a bit difficult, but very interesting: The vision of an extraterrestrial, good-hearted, rebellious against his own species body parasites that builds a bond with the spirit of his host body (so I knew so far nothing in the direction). The writing style of Stephenie Meyer has evolved and she writes compelling than ever. The love story between Wanda, Ian, Melanie and Jared is poignant and the conflict caused thereby appears to be a single dilemma. In the last third of The Host are the existential questions that Wanda turns out, more and more urgent: What makes a life worth living? How do you compensate for two lives against each other?
