Best Mimi album ever!

Because early makes cool "Honey". A great hip-hop track, which was produced by Puff Daddy. "Honey" was the first single from "Butterfly" and reached number 1 on the Billboard charts. "Butterfly," the title song of the album, is a beautiful ballad that refers to the marriage to Tommy Mottola. I think, "Butterfly" was very different from all the ballads that Mariah had previously written. One of my favorite tracks from "Butterfly", mainly because Mimi sings the song very impressive. She puts her whole soul and your whole feeling in "Butterfly". "My All" is indeed a beautiful ballad, but for me personally the weakest song on the album. Musically and lyrically I think "My All" after a few times listening to some boring and "fade". I hope the other Mariah fans accept me not evil my vote, but can also be a Mariah fan / you do not like all the songs of Mariah. Then my favorite song comes from "Butterfly": "The Roof (Back in Time)". Recorded had MC this time with the song "Track Masters" and was also her favorite song from "Butterfly". I find this slightly wicked melody blends perfectly with the text, in the Mariah over a love affair "on the rooftop that rainy night" sings (on the roof that rainy night). "The Roof", incidentally, contains a Sampel of "Shook Ones".

"Fourth of July" is a beautiful love song. A great "Summer Song" with a slight, but not too kitischigen melody and a dreamy, playful text. Definitely a highlight on "Butterfly"! "Breakdown" MC sings along with the group "Bone Thugs-N-Harmony" and although you might think the song handle on MariahŽs situation at that time (divorce from Tommy Mottola and other problems), the singer has denied repeatedly that this is so was. Either way, "Breakdown" is a true gem. Toll also how Mariah her singing of the "Bone Thugs-N-Harmony" adapts. "Baby Doll" has probably the most daring text and was almost scandalous for MariahŽs conditions. We have certainly also due to Missy Elliot, who wrote the song with Mariah. "Close My Eyes" is my favorite song from "Butterfly". The melody is just beautiful and the text is really very honest and vulnerable, including Mariah writes about her difficult childhood. "Close My Eyes" MC wrote the way over a period of 4 years! Already it can be seen how hard it may be Mariah's good pleasure to write "Close My Eyes" and again to relive the difficult times of her childhood. "Whenever You Call" is again a ballad, but no highly dramatic but minimalistic, yet wonderful ballad. The text could be quite as kitischig call, but by the simple and not overloaded melody balances this out again. In any case, I find "Whenever You Call" very nice and pleasant. (-:

It follows "Fly Away (Butterfly Reprise)". Frankly, that's a highlight for me! Okay, the existing text is certainly not a milestone, but you can dance the night away to the gorgeous melody and here one can only marvel over MimiŽs unique voice. "The Beautiful Ones" Personally I like back not so ... Especially with the melody I can not do much. In a song originally by Prince, but I do not know the original, which is why I can now draw any comparison between these two versions.

After conclusion is the wonderful "Outside". The text really touched me very much, because Mimi writes about the problem, nowhere to belong and to be always somehow misplaced. Mariah had to also learn because of their skin color and their mixed-race origin often. In "Outside" she writes, how it feels to be shunned by all, just because one does not look like the others. The melody fits 100% to trauigen and honest text - as goosebumps is inevitable.
