Now it has happened: Public Enemy have errors, finally received a Karierreüberblick after numerous "Best of ..", which is hard to complain about the occasion. "Def Jam", the label was in the PE during its heyday from 1987-1998 under contract, is responsible for the CD, which could hardly be better put together. "Youre gonna get yours" and "Public Enemy No 1" make a start, and come from the 1987 "Yo! Bum Rush the Show" album, followed by 5 pieces from the 1988 "It takes a nation of a million" album. This and his successor "Fear of Black Planet" (of which 4 pieces on this "Best of" find) are generally considered the best hip hop albums ever made. "Apocalypse 91" is represented with 3 songs, and the last 3 songs are from the albums that followed thereafter, the time was rather mixed for PE from 1992. The song compilation is outstanding, and leaves little to be desired about. Between all the albums best songs were usually removed ("Rebel Without a Pause", "Fight the Power", "911 is a Joke" etc). The booklet becomes very informative, the band had no effect on this compilation. The liner notes are by Harry Allen (former PR man of the group) and Adam Yauch written (by Beastie Boys), and illustrate why PE as political of all hip-hop groups ever were. This CD, and the first 4 albums of the band belong in every good CD collection
