Despite the "imperfections" of this first book of Scott Fitzgerald, This Side of Paradise manages to transport the reader into the era of the "lost generation" of American 20s. The style is precise, making perfectly the thickness of the characters who appear to be genuine and so close to the player. The papillonnage love of the hero, Amaury Blaine, really leaves the reader in front of what he may have known: an emotional void that can not be closed so easily.
The prose is of great quality and history certainly does not shine by its plot, but this is not what to look at Fitzgerald; Only a book that is a call to youth lost forever.
