As an example, the title track is to lead, which actually has a very catchy melody, but the Text works partially unfinished. But the first single, "My Lucky Day" looks rough and unfinished.
Springsteen's qualities are not confined to rock songs, but also to the narrative ballads, which is represented here with "The Wrestler" and one of the great songs on the album. Also very strong is the "Outlaw Pete", which stands out not only with more than eight minutes of playing time, but also with an excellent text and thus a centerpiece of the CD is.
Wonderful also the catchy pop song "Surprise surprise" of even if the text is really convinced with a cheerfulness and good humor, a little weaker. As you have already heard better by the boss and this comparison he must be always fallen.
For me the best tracks on the CD, however, is the ballad "Last Carnival", which produces really goosebumps.
If Bruce Springsteen sings about his love for a Supermarktkassierein (Queen of the Supermarket) or the ballads accesses (This Life 'and Life Itself) it acts more as if he wants to rock with all his might for me.
Nevertheless, the CD is better than "Magic" and it gives us hope that he gets the curve. We are happy to take the next time again an acoustic CD in the style of Nebraska.
