First of all: I find this calendar in terms of puzzles and gimmicks much better than its predecessor from last year.
The Advent consists of a nicely printed cardboard, in which a cover can be folded up (including then get the windows open, among which one finds every day a new gimmick) and a tear-off calendar, where a new puzzle will appear for every day.
At the last calendar I had complained that the puzzles were monotonous (nearly Images search puzzle only) and the gimmicks had almost nothing to do with "detective work".
In this 2014 calendar on the other hand there are no criticisms of me. Subscribed castle motif on the box is my daughter not be scary enough, but the rest has everything that calendar has always proved.
The Story (mystery surrounding a Gespensterschloss) is expected in most children are well received, may again be experimented geknobelt, painted and looking at pictures and the gimmicks (eg detective crime scene tape, notepad + eraser, cryptography tables and even when solving the puzzles small black light to find traces), offer more ??? Flair.
The recommended age starts from 8 years, where children are still some need in the age at solving the puzzles to help.
Otherwise, however, absolute buy recommendation, a nice gift for little junior detectives.
