When I bought the CD from Amazon, of course I was impressed by the many good reviews. However, I was very disappointed after the first listen and put the CD just aside. After two weeks, when I thought about auctioning a few CDs with a well-known online auction house, then I remembered, "A Certain Trigger" in the eye. Give Maximo Park another chance, I thought, and then it began the second hearing there was some places recognizable and songs, such as "Apply Some Pressure", "Postcard Of A Painting" and "Going Missing" I liked then quite well. It abolished the debut of Newcastle then increasingly in my CD player and almost each of 13 songs has become a catchy tune.
Maximo Park is not one of these new indie rock bands that have jumped on the train, but they are the train. However, Maximo Park music distinguished clearly from other bands and impresses with its timeless music, so are on the album very emotional songs with musical 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s elements.
"A Certain Trigger" is a beautiful, very good Britpop-, indie rock album that enchants the listener with beautiful melodies, very good lyrics and the accent by Paul Smith.
