I'm not passionate about gymnastics and even too young to remember Nadia Comaneci, and yet what a pleasure to read this novel! This is of course the individual destiny of a remarkable personality, with background history of communist Romania to the fall of Ceausescu, tensions with the USSR and the West. Not to mention: a beautiful female portrait, not at all "dependent" as can be read in a comment on the contrary a very human portrait that never judge, but knows his responsibility to return the viewer and media hungry sports performance, but ruthless and inadequate judges a person he does not know.
