The 1991's debut album of the London band "BLUR" around singer Damon Albarn shot in England now in the top ten, but remained largely unknown to us. The Rave-phase passed slowly, bands like the Stone Roses or Happy Mondays disappeared as quickly as they had come. But nevertheless there were still trying a few bands to have success with psychadelischem guitar sound. Thanks perky performances, good PR and not last two ingenious Pre-singles ("She's So High" and "There's no other way") were Blur, the band of the year. The album "Leisure", however, is far different from what should make Blur later. There are the short, danceable rave pop songs like "Bang" or just "There's no other way", but the highlights of the album are quieter, atmospheric songs like "She`s So High" and "Repetition". Genial is "Sing," a psychadelische anthem, "Trainspotting" became famous many years later by the movie. "Leisure" is certainly not Blur's masterpiece, especially since there is still something playful and sometimes monotonous. But it can already recognize the qualities of the band in each song that made the following albums in musical vision to success. (This is an Amazon.com at the university-student review.)
