Boogie-woogie meets Punk

The Jim Jones Revue (Audio CD)

Customer Review

The piano pictured on the cover has suffered, as you can see - and how REVUE on the debut album of Jim Jones also heard: absolutely psychotic, overtightened boogie-woogie and rock'n'roll, like Jerry Lee Lewis on Ecstasy and with a burning China firecrackers in his pants. Actually, the recording is totally overloaded and should lead to rash in any hi-fi fetishists. But you know what? I like just that! This completely hyperactive clamor, this unpolished sound that permanent step on the accelerator - that's so incredibly fun and extremely entertaining.

The band recorded the 10 songs in two days on the sample chamber. This was followed by a record deal and two more albums that are naturally produced better and still make a tidy steam, however, that sound a lot smoother and no longer have this hingerotzten charm of the debut. Playing tips: "Rock'n'Roll Psychosis", "Hey Hey Hey Hey" and "Fish Fry 2".
