These lyrical poems full delight and comfort the desperate hearts, for to paraphrase André Chénier: "Art does that verse, the heart alone is a poet." And it is with all his heart that V.Hugo to write this, thinking of her missing daughter and seeking to find solace for escape suicide.
Musset says in "May Night": "The most desperate are the most beautiful songs / And I know of immortals that are pure tears." Here is a good example.
I particularly enjoyed "Veni, vidi, Vexi" which here is an excerpt:
"In this land where prison does not open wing,
Without me complain, bleeding, and falling on the hands,
Morne exhausted mocked by humans convicts
I wore my link in the eternal chain. "
