which is on the one hand to the monotony of the presentation, on the other hand the sound picture of the recording.
Shankar wonderful violin is not very good to wear, the sounds of the old and new shaktiaufnahmen a lot better and more versatile, especially because the excellent percussionists in this recording (Trilok Gurtu & Zakir Hussain) modulate an inconsequential tapestry of sound in the background (with or without drum machine is not significant).
so there is little musical exchange between the musicians who act Title content interchangeably with few exceptions.
I can only recommend, either to resort to shakti recordings (Shankar / McLaughlin / Hussain)
or better yet, to the already mentioned above board "Making Music" (ECM) by Zakir Hussain with
John McLaughlin, Jan Garbarek and Hariprasad Chaurasia on flute, an exceptionally beautiful album with a variety of sound experiences that the reviewed here can be very, very album look pale!
