The S4800 surprised already on paper. So a 30x optical and digital zoom additional 6,7facher is something, as an ISO range to 6400. The wide-angle goes from 24-720mm.
The optical image stabilizer works in the test very well. That's a different league than the digital my compact.
If you want to photograph with flash is an integrated, well-HDR shooting is possible with the series exposure function. The speed depends on the selected resolution and can be screwed at low resolution at 8 fps. Even fast trains are so not a problem.
Films are recorded in maximum HDTV ready format, 3D photos and such gimmicks are probably possible for me but uninteresting.
The setting functions are numerous, so you can fine-tune all sorts. As well as the automatic functions are solid for normal clipper. Unfortunately, service is a little menu-heavy as a thumbwheel on the camera is missing.
What I like is the extremely good power supply. So the camera is powered by 4 AA batteries, which you get everywhere. Of course you will also work with the Sanyoo Eneloops with prolonged high voltage and great perseverance and I can even recharge on a long tour.
However, the most extraordinary feature of the S4800 is the low price. As you get already a lot for your money, especially if you the alternatives such as the Nikon 1 J3 system camera (14 megapixels, 7.6 cm (3 inch) LCD display, Full HD) Kit incl. 1 Nikkor 10-30 mm VR white lens or the Sony DSC-H200 Digital Camera (20.1 megapixels, 26x opt. Zoom, 7.6 cm (3 inch) display, Full HD, 25mm wide-angle lens, Optical Image Stabilizer) compares black.
However, the low price also has its reasons: The display is pretty weak and 4 inches with 230,000 pixels too coarse, the spontaneous snapshot takes too much time to prepare. Partially also a chromatic aberration is criticized. Which has not yet been noticed.
Ultimately must be the little brother of the Fujifilm FinePix S6800 Digital Camera (16 Megapixel, 30x opt. Zoom, 7.6 cm (3 inch) screen image stabilized) not hide. This is mainly due to the low price and the resulting very good price-performance. However, there are at all zoom level has weaknesses in the B-Note.
If one looks as beginners or semi-professional a good all-rounder, you will not really happy with this camera, unlike when one but knows the strengths and they also want to specifically use.
