Opinion:
The Battle of Sluis Van exceeds all expectations and is the proof that Star Wars is not just a visual phenomenon, but also works fine as a radio play. The episode closes seamlessly with Part 3 and are finally an answer to the question who is Mara Jade and why they want to kill Luke Skywalker. Talon Karrde proves once more than colorful character who so does not want to fit into the usual black and white scheme. Hubertus Bengsch has the charismatic smugglers lent his voice and the series will hopefully get long. Grand Admiral Thrawn (Thomas Nero Wolff), however, presents again his impressive tactical skills to the test while Leia Organa Solo on Kashyyyk discover new allies. This is also a bridge to the next part of the Thrawn Trilogy built, which is set to music under the title the dark side of power in five parts. Of course, also of Oliver Döring and Imaga. In this radio play, the original sounds coming from the movies to its best advantage because the titular battle offers plenty of opportunities for laser shots, exploding spaceships and howling engines. Only in lightsaber duels will be without the listener (yet). This will be rewarded with the original voice acting from the movies, and even Wolfgang Grapefruit which frequently sounded a little tired and disinterested in this episode delivers an outstanding job. There is also a re-hearing with Wedge Antilles, a friend of Luke, who was already at the Battle of Yavin one of the party, as the first Death Star was destroyed. Antilles is spoken in the play by Bernd Vollbrecht representing the X-Wing pilots very confident and personable. The eponymous Battle of Sluis Van comes from its intensity might not be at the battle of Endor zoom, but it is still the indisputable highlights of the radio play-quadrology, and even after the end of which all signs point to storm. The thanks of the German Star Wars fan community applies Oliver Döring and the creators of Imaga who have made this event radio drama in four parts possible. With this in mind: keep it up, and may the force be with you.
