I went out as a reference on my Logiteck X-230. From this I was always convinced and I wanted a system that at least an equally good sound (highly subjective perception -> sounds) has.
Actually, the Z523 has not even earned a negative review - in the sense of "not he shall be called." Each line written in connection with this system seems to be a waste. The system entäuschte me in every aspect. There is no middle, there are very tinny sounding highs and a powerful, indefinable "oomph". Such occurrence is not congruent with my idea of a sound system - or I hear the wrong music (that would be quite a lot), or I was born in the wrong time and grew up (I can not help).
I have compared the system directly to the old X-230 and then with the Edifier C2. The X-230 has two midrange / tweeter per speaker, the Z523 just one per box. In addition, this sound in the old Logitech System not as tinny. You make the following experiment: They turn the bass at Z523 completely out and higher form so then music - how does that sound? For me as very expensive boxes from discounters. By listening that has nothing much to do.
Because I was so excited about the performance of the Z523, I ordered on the same day nor the Edifier C2. Now I could compare the Edifier with the X-230 and Z523. From the Z523, we no longer want to talk, the Edifier, however, is a true music system and it sounds even better than the old known X-230. But since this is not a review of C2 here, I refrain from further canticles.
Conclusion: For me, the Z523 is not suitable for listening to music. It is perhaps for effect reproduction in computer games - if because of a strong rum is from below. Otherwise can be identified, in my view no other purposes.
