This masterpiece is not a pleasant film. It is not a film that you should take a look at a cozy Viedeoabend together with friends, or a movie, where you can casually tuck a few pretzel sticks. They would remain a stick in the throat. This work leads the viewer into the human abyss and it is hard to believe how low these may be. After I "have put behind me," this film, as I said it is not a pleasure, I felt completely distraught and asked me, why am I doing something to me? As the film begins to the jungle, the humidity, the Napalm and especially the river, even to hate the whole of Vietnam. Everything is terrible, everything. From the pictures, full of blood and fire intoxicated, shocked by the events and confused by the often monotonous or confused, monologues, swears to be the guy that you determined this film not look at a second time. But it is and will remain a great movie with breathtaking scenes and magnificent soundtrack, I can now only recommend retrospectively. And if you still the film to filming "Into the heart of darkness" look at, you get more and more respect for Francis Ford Coppola and the actors (especially in front of Martin Sheen, but less before Marlon Brando), the much condemned in the had to take long and difficult shooting up. Conclusion: No title would have been more appropriate than this! This is the Apocalypse! If anything, this film may have a such unsettle what then the real war in Vietnam made the American soldiers .... ??? VIETNAM!
