However, the design as to its application area is only half thought through. It should be saving space compared to the insertion of a straight plug. As you can see on the picture, unfortunately, is the short part of the adapter of which points downward. The long part of the adapter is back on the TV towards the wall. Plugged look out exactly 3.2cm. Good idea, poorly implemented: A simple reverse arrangement of plug and socket you could achieve real gain in space.
I have several HDMI cable, which also which with a very short "shell" of the plug (I mean the part directly on the plug, which is wider than the cable, and where one draws out of this). Compared to these, "normal" inserted without an adapter in uncritical degree of bending of the cable, I have with this adpater just one half to one centimeter space savings.
Really helpful, the adapter is therefore only when using a cable that is a very long solid sheath on the plug end. Here necessary to consider what one of the - very small space saving compared to a useful designed cable is worth - because of the poor implementation of a really good idea.
I think in this respect almost 10 including shipping. (As of 26/07/2013: 6.59 + 3 for product shipping, available exclusively through "dieKaiser"; came in the letter, which never ever tasted 3) really inappropriate for the small space profit. Given the low utility value for the price and the only half-baked implementation of the idea, but with good robust quality of the plug, a total of 3 points.
