I am aware these boxes ordered because the reviews were very good, and because I can do without any of these "Chic Design", remote control, volume control on the desktop, a plurality of terminals and the like. Price, well, like 100 many be too much, but I'm going out of it, now to have the boxes for several years and as they are to me quite worth 100-150. Much more but not because I believe that the then waste of money with onboard sound is and I indeed predominantly (TV and movies on the PC, perhaps apart) use the boxes as a pure PC speakers. Based on the reviews here, I have but then decided for 1900. The lateral controller 1600 may be useful for some, but after the first week I have the depths and in speakers never moved more with my Logitech, so I do not need easily accessible controls.
Appearance:
The boxes are pretty simple, relatively heavy and relatively large. You "feel" at very valuable. The cover can be removed and the inside is a bit thicker and firmer foam. Dieting and wipe damp, yes, put completely under the tap, I would cover but then not. (Yes, I also smoke on the PC, because then comes quite a bit of nicotine / dust)
Connections and electrics:
I still have not figured out what the second Chincheingang is (B), the Flyer is a bit of "Treble Shift function" at port A, where to connect the PC, but what B is I do not know. Between A and B can not be switched. (Additional audio connectors or headphone jack does not exist)
The right speaker has a bass and volume control. (The left pole just over a 2 cable terminal connector)
The bass control should best be in the middle, where it snaps easily to obtain a balanced sound. The volume control is with me at about 40%, which already results in low volume in the setting of about 45% for the Windows Sound Mixer. Upwardly So for me would be even ordenlich Reserve.
Zwichen the right box with knobs and amplifier and the left box a 2 meters long 2-core cable is placed and clamped. From the right box the cable is 2 * RCA to jack. The attached cable is about 1.60 meters long. That here on Amazon "Frequently Bought Together" only 1.5 meters, so unnecessary. For me, where the PC is left, I need a 1.75-2 meter cable, the cable reaches 1.60 only just that. The attached cable also seems to me something valent than offered here on Amazon.
I run the PC and the speakers into a power strip, which unfortunately creates an input and off thumps. Although disturbs not, but I do wonder whether that is so good for the speakers.
Audio:
I would describe the boxes as a very balanced and detailed. In the transition from my old 2.1 system I noticed the there the heights "did not fit" and the bass was too bummern. Even TV on PC is the Efifier boxing head and shoulders above the old 2.1. System.
I can not hear Pop or Electronic Music, I can say nothing about very basslatige music. Playing is limited with me on any browser games. Only Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, but also, for example, Tori Amos, old Pink Floyd or even Beethoven. The attention to detail in Beethoven I would quite compare with my Ultimate Ears, even perhaps rather better. In the boxes, it is of course a bit more volume. I could listen to me when a friend, the acclaimed Devil or the Creative, I would say purely subjective, the sound of the Edifier are better.
A small flaw, but has only me, the thing yet. When I got the boxes, I could place them freely on my desk. Now tune the minimum information 1.5 meter distance between the boxes no longer; I need this for reasons of space right next to the monitor to place, but are only 50 cm, I give because I think a lot of potential of the boxes. (Somewhere was also something over a minimum distance from the wall of one meter, this I REAS not)
CONCLUSION:
1. I would like to buy the boxes again. (My old Logitech held for several years, I do not think it still gives the RT1900)
2. I will never buy a 2.1 system.
