Fan of the universe of Thorgal, I always had a thing for Kriss Valnor, the "bad" par excellence but with an endearing side. The mystery that hung around his past contributed to his aura and was something frustrating. I waited, through the albums with the turning of a page, to learn more and to reconstruct his life. It is therefore with impatience and curiosity that I immersed myself in this first album of the worlds of Thorgal. The idea is full of promise: Kriss is dead but the Valkyries not knowing how to judge his actions put the decision on hold. Then began a long narrative to Kriss, that of his life, in the end what his destiny will be played. Youth Kriss could only be black. But here I must confess that I found that the traits were forced: too much violence (abuse, rape, insults ... etc) ... The repetition of abuse experienced by kris seems totally unnecessary and even at night story. forgotten the likelihood analysis of the character character in favor of a single watchword: to defend and revenge. This does not add depth to the character, and led me to some discomfort from reading this album. You can find traitd of humor or note of hope to lighten the tale. This album reflects Thorgal with the series in which violence was not absent but was expertly distilled as required by the story. The story becomes interesting to page 30, with the meeting of Sigwald. Unfortunately, the plot ends at the end of the album when it could extend the volume 2. One wonders then that reserve more ...
