Powerex MH-C9000 Wizard One Charger Analyzer (Accessories)

Customer Review

Because I 700 charger, apart from the keyboard, was pleased with my old Technoline BC, I wanted to originally have a Technoline BC 900, which has a higher charging current than the BC700 delivers specify.
When I wanted to order the BC900, I came across the Powerex MH-C9000 Charger WizardOne. Due to the many good recessions I bought me umentschieden and MH-C9000. I can not understand the many good recessions, because I was this charger so far disappointed in many things.

First, the positive properties:

+ Large illuminated, clear display.
+ Easy to use
+ Individual supervision
+ The charging current can be adjusted from 200mA to 2A, set in 100mA steps.
+ The discharge can be independent of the charging current of 100mA to 1A, in
Setting steps of 100mA.
+ Device makes a stable impression

The negatives:

- The display is permanently lit as long as batteries are in the unit and it
there is no way off this lighting.

- The device does not come with all clear and then usually only with brand new batteries.

- The pauses between charge and discharge cycles are much too high and
Compliance partly not the details, of only ever 60 minutes and in the
Manual.

- In the discharge mode, the device switches, after unloading does not automatically
Shop around.

- Poor and incorrect manual. Well, that many things in the device
self-explanatory.

We come first to the backlight. Why the developers have this done by the device can not be shifted, is beyond me. Degrees in break-in mode, which can last up to 2 days, the partial day and night then glows. Well, one advantage is the whole thing, because you can by using the charger as well as a night light.

Now for the pauses between the cycles that extend the entire automatic mode only unnecessarily. If a break must be inserted after charging if you want to unload then, it would be enough but wait until a battery has cooled. I'm assuming that would be enough 15 minutes, but this charger sets a break of up to 2 hours.
In the manual but is only getting 60 minutes of the speech.

Refresh Analyze: 120 minutes break after charging
60 minutes break after a discharge process

Break-in: 60 minutes break after charging
60 minutes break after a discharge process

Cycle: 120 minutes break after charging
60 minutes break after a discharge process

We come to the discharge mode, DISCHG.
Before I re-charging batteries, I basically always discharge the remaining residual capacity. It is advantageous if a charger then automatically switches to charging mode after discharging. Why that behaves differently in this charger, is beyond me. After all, who wants to always see if the batteries are finally discharged so that he then must manually switch to charging mode.
If you forget the time, then the empty battery in the device remain first and if you one is urgently needed then unpleasantly surprised. So what you could have solved differently. For example, one can select the discharge mode on request between subsequent automatic and manual charging.

What still bothers is that you only have to take a battery and reseat again always to go to a different mode. If you have such. B. discharge a battery, you have to take it only from the charger and reinsert so that you can then charge it again. Just that's when you have something set incorrectly. This can be corrected only if one takes out a battery and resumes.

Now we come to the most annoying feature of the MH-C9000 and what I have withdrawn the most points because it this charger is almost unusable for me.

Of the many batteries that I have, it just comes with the fewest cope easily. In most cases, a high problem appears on the display and the consecutive slot display then stops at such a high. The other problem cases a reset is triggered in the charging slots in question, directly after having used specific batteries.

The best is clearly the charger Sanyo Eneloop AA batteries, even if they are a bit older. In only 1 year old, hardly used, Eneloop AAA types the charger increases in several of the batteries with a high or sometimes reset from. With Sanyo 2700 AA 2700mAh charger is not at all clear. These 12 good Sanyo, which I still have less than two years, solved in the device, without exception, a reset. All these batteries can be easily overloaded with my old BC700 and are at capacity measurements still more than 2000 mAh. Then I still have plenty of approximately 1 year old Energizer 1100mAh - AAA batteries where the charger only with a few coping and most with high, breaks off. Is probably related to the fact that the internal resistance of batteries to a charging / discharging operation are measured and the device is set too sensitive in the point. But what triggers a reset of charging slots in some batteries, I can not understand.
With the few NoName batteries that I own, the MH-C9000 does not come with handle, except with a few exceptions. What there but very amazes me is that these exceptions are very old. It is about 6-year-old Profitexx - AA 2600mAH and two, 10-year-old EYO High Power 'AA 1800 mAh. Very unusual that this so picky charger with these very old batteries still cope. After the capacitance measurements Profitexx still exhibit capacity between 1600mAh and 1900mAh and the two EYO still 1400mAH and 1500mAh. Thus therefore less capacity than the batteries with which the MH-C9000 not cope.

Here are some examples.

Sanyo Eneloop AA 2000mAh / 1000 charging cycles Type: There are also among the older batteries no problems with the MH-C9000.

Sanyo AA 2700 mAh: In all, without exception, resets the MH-C9000.

Sanyo Eneloop AAA / 1000 charging cycles type between 1 and 3 years old: If there are multiple, high, in a few, reset and the small remainder, properly.

Sanyo Eneloop AAA / 1500 charging cycles type, about 6 months of age: No problems.

Energizer AAA 1100 mAh, between 1 and 2 years old: For most, high, with a few, and reset the vanishing rest properly.

Ansmann AAA 1100 mAh, 3 years old: High.

Ansmann AA 2750 mAh, about 2 years old: High and one copy, reset.

GP AAA 700mAh, about 2 years old: without problems.

Noname Profitexx AA 2600mAh, about 6 years old: No problems.

NoName EYO AA 1800mAh, about 10 years old: without problems.

All other NoName from my possession, at least 5 years old. All High.

Since I mostly had bad experiences with NoName-Batteries, I bought no more of it for at least 5 years.

Of course I had already branded batteries in poor quality.
Among the Ansmann AAA were 1100 mAh. In the first set I bought it the quality was initially very good, and even the printed capacity has been reached, partly also exceeded slightly. Only the service life was significantly limited in these Ansmann, because after not 50 cycles within 2 years they had passed over.
A set Ansmann 1100mAh AAA, I bought one years later, was already garbage when they were new, because from the 4rer set it all brought only about 500 mAH and one available in 100mAh. After a complaint, I received directly from the manufacturer sent a new set, which had similarly poor capacity and also a copy here again had a very low capacity of about 100 mAh. Then I bought no more batteries for this manufacturer.
But even with a set GP AA 600mAh that came with a DECT phone, gave it to the durability problems. By contrast, my GP AA 700mAh have excellent quality.

Now I'm off the subject MH-C9000. Finally, I can only say that I, despite not so good service and smaller unlit display that Technoline BC 900 or identical, should have bought. This BC900 battery charger is sold under various trade names identical. Differences give it here only in the price and the slightly different housing designs.

An MH-C9000, I would only buy again, if all the shortcomings listed by me be eliminated. Perhaps an improved firmware would already fix some shortcomings. Perhaps also the one with the permanent lighting, because yes is illuminated only when at least one battery is in the device and could possibly also run through the firmware. The pauses between the cycles should be far shorter.
