This 2005 reissue is decorated with drawings of Lise Hertzog that do not directly illustrate the recipes. The book contains some very brief comments on the customs and culinary traditions (to really know this aspect, see Inventory culinary heritage of France - Alsace). There are no pictures. Laid flat the book does not open, despite its traditional invoice binding.
Overall this is a good book on a budget. But all revenues (except the four on Christmas cupcakes) are now included in the cookbook Alsatian. Of course it costs more, but it includes 400 recipes and fits perfectly open flat. So my preference is to him.
