The album is much more commercial than the predecessor. Many keyboards and even an orchestra were used. Yet Queensryche Queensryche have remained. Horny guitar riffs, brilliant vocals and incredible melodies are back at the start. The group is very well done of metal and prog rock to create a commercial masterpiece. Who now bothered by the word `Kommerz`, the album was very successful, especially in the US. With `Empire`,` Jet City woman`, `Another Rainy Night` and` Silent lucidity` directly 4 single hits were recorded. The aforementioned 4 songs plus `Best I can` and` Anybody listening? `I will call as Anspieltipps.
Chris DeGarmo, Michael Wilton (Guitars), Geoff Tate (vocals), Scott Rockfield (Drums) and Eddie Jackson (bass) has managed a stroke of genius, a classic with "Empire". Here Metal and Prog is merged into an incredibly successful blend and the work was then also very successful. The production is also well top. For me, besides "Operation: Mindcrime" and "Promised Land" album the group. 5 star fats.
