Canadian BBQ Quality

2012, I finally wanted to buy a large, high quality BBQ gas grill me. After many years of charcoal and a cheaper gas grill, it was time. With four children, a gas grill is definitely more practical ... it's just faster.

First, my focus was on Weber Genesis and Outdoorchef. Great models, all with their own advantages. I have to admit I knew Broil King previously only so casually.
But with a large barbecue shop all the different models were in showroom.
After I had looked at the Weber models that I partially also knew of friends here, showed me the expert salesperson the Broil King models.
Wow, even high-quality fabrics. Double-walled lid, thermometer, cast iron, enameled grates, large barbecue area, four main burners, a burner at the back for the supplied Spiessbraten kebab with motor and a cooking surface on the side for pots / pans.

The first impression was very positive. The knobs similar to those from the Weber. Very solid and good workmanship.
After comparing various then fell my choice on the shelf 490 of Broil King.
Even the warranties were similar to Weber. On the aluminum tank feature a lifetime warranty, 10 years on the stainless steel burner and 2 years on remaining parts.
That was important to me, I do not want to spend NEN bunch of money for a gas grill, which in a short time has no more spare parts available. You never know what will happen ...
The shelf was 490 200 Euro below the price the Weber Genesis I had in mind. But here there was as I said even the engine-powered Spies with this ...
Since I really Grille very often, so 3-4 11kg gas cylinders (this also fits into the base pure !!) per year can I say, the grill is really top.
I have the premium cover and the grill is outside all year round. Of course he is cleaned regularly. Overall, however, cuts down on fat drinkable. The burner system and the plates guide all that is left in a little shell, which is in the substructure. These can then be emptied regularly.
The only thing now and then falls off times are the little rubber plugs that are attached to the lid and put the lid on the grill itself should prevent. But can tuck repeatedly. After 2 1/2 years at Broil King sign on the cover a few questions of shiny chrome paint from and you can see now the right plastic. But that's beside the point.

On the four wheels can be of almost 90kg heavy barbecue roll around very well.
Overall, very well made and absolutely reliable. The storage space on the sides and the small storage niches are top. By Zubeör of Grillpro or other vendors can extend the capabilities. Rib Rack, pizza stone (top), Cast iron plate ...

The shelf 490 it is fun. I admit, the Weber Genesis is high even a little bit better, but you pay maintenance even here a few hundred euros more. This is really a bit exaggerated. Especially when you know how much these models in their home country USA / Canada only cost. But anyway, here in Germany we have few alternatives.
So if a very high quality BBQ gas grill with 4 burners, additional burner and side burner plus Spiessbraten Spiess with electric motor would ... coming on Broil King Regal 490 past hardly. There are now the Broil King models also slimmed version for less money in large hardware stores.

So best just have a look locally, touch and if it offers the store possibly even sample barbecue.
