Singer-songwriter ROSE is such a case again. Their idiosyncratic blend of chanson and Nu-Folk makes them the absolute music-pearl. France has already conquered with her debut album in the storm, and the album has been awarded justly with gold. Their first single "La List" brought her success directly. In Germany, the 2nd single "Ciao Bella" is running in the German Radio. Very amazing and actually another proof for me that the lady has it charmed people with their music. Does not happen every day French on the radio. Quality wins but then by well.

I could live on the weekend when Popdeurope Festival in Berlin see (their first concert in Germany) and the way in which she presented herself there was just great. Alone, as a total Nobody with Acoustic guitar practice before 3,000 people requires a lot of courage. She reminds me of the attitude a bit to KT Tunstall. The fact is, she was celebrated frenetically. One of the hightlights besides "Ciao Bella" was certainly end their version of Janis Joplin (her idol) classic "Meredes Benz". The Lady has a sly old dog. One should not be deceived by the sweet name ... respect.

Conclusion: If you like Folk, Country and shallow Chanson is can not get away from ROSE. I find them vielsichtiger as Carla Bruni (it is in the press often compared to the singing model). This album is an absolute must. For me, already one of the musical discoveries of 2007. The perfect summer album.

I wish her every success in Germany and may it soon come up with band on tour. Count me in!
