Do not assume that this cable is fully backwards compatible with USB 2.0, as I had expected based on the current product description. The USB-A-end of the cable is compatible with both USB 2.0 and 3.0, but there was a change in the form of standard USB-B connector USB 2.0 to USB 3.0. For this reason, you will not be able to plug in the USB-B-end of the cable into any USB 2.0 device.
This is not a fault of the cable that appears to be very well done, but the product description on Amazon, which is currently my review online, this should make clear to those who are unaware of this fact.
