This was the CD that everyone must have, as the pieces of silver were beginning to replace the vinyl. Hardly any other brought in 1985 the sound of the new medium so to advantage. Even today boasts the absolutely clean quality. That being said, the music is excellent - "Brothers in Arms" is one of the best albums of the 80s. My favorite is "Money for Nothing", an absolute cracker of crisp percussion, dominant guitar and synths painting. And with the riddle, he's really - yes, it is Sting, who sings in the background "I want my MTV", to the tune of Police hits "Do not Stand So Close To Me". "Walk Of Life" is a classic full of vitality, "Why Worry" soothes the soul, the title song "Brothers in Arms" floats in sentimentality ... an album full of feeling, despite the technical perfection. Songs like "Your Latest Trick" and "Ride Across The River" are simply beautiful. A must in every rock and 80s collection.
