Customer Review

"Florence and the Machine" have accompanied me constantly with Lungs by the second half of 2009. And again and again there are phases in which I can hardly get enough of this multi-faceted, musically great album made. Long it was considered a great secret and only very slowly Florence Welch was a wider audience with her band known. With "Ceremonials" is followed by the long-awaited second album. War "Lungs" skillfully unintentionally? Are they really that good? Do they deserve a place in the music business? No! Yes! and yes!

Even before circulating some songs through the Internet - although in comparison "techno" th remix version - but already these songs verspachen a well balanced album as it was to be expected "Lungs". Among these songs already published was the dark "What the Water Gave Me", which takes in his captivity with his unsettling attraction to listeners directly from the first note. Little by little, the hymn-like character crystallizes out, so I had puzzled click at the end of the longest 5:33 minutes song on "Repeat". The other 11 songs of the standard version of the song are mentioned in every way.

"Shake It Out" - a bass-heavy, merry-provoking song "Never Let Me Go" - an equally sad as beautiful song, "Heart Lines" - Indie Rock in its purest form. Florence and the Machine can do everything. Their musical range stretches from ballads to danceable anthems disco songs. Very interesting song is number five ("Breaking Down"), which with a monotonous Uff da uff da beat - and thus as a pop song - comes along and successively developed. This seems to me to be a typical feature of musical concoctions this band. The handset comes with every song differently in the song as it comes out at the end. Time they support their melodies with powerful strings, other times acting Florences voice initially fragile, the next song she spits the lyrics a formally opposed. Fantastic.

One of my current favorite numbers is "Lover to Lover", which not only lyrically, but above all by its catchy beat wandered right into my feet and I animated to dance. Should I, however, make a list of the Anspieltipps the album, I was absolutely overwhelmed. Any song it would be fair to be called at the end of such a list. Who can on part-garde music, part indie rock, part-Glory Pop, partly -... leaves, lose yourself in songs and can be drawn from a vote in Bann, which is with "Ceremonials" and songs like "All This in Heaven too" or the end of the album perfectly placed "Leave My Body" have his delight.

The Deluxe Edition includes an additional eight songs comprehensive "Disc Two", which offers to the previous 12 songs three bonus tracks, two demo and three acoustic versions of the regular album. The hypnotic-cool "Remain Nameless" or the rocking "Strangeness and Charm" that could already be familiar to some fans in the live version on Florence's album "Between Two Lungs", are the few bucks to pay the "on top" would be worth. And "Bedroom Hymn" only! Wow! Awesome!
About side dishes such as demos and acoustic versions now one can argue - I liked it. Only the booklet is a little disappointing: the photos are placed consistently artistic, but I lack the printed lyrics. Especially the songs a band like "Florence and the Machine" live from the brilliant lyrics that I'd like to read along while listening (at least until I 'sing' can). Nevertheless Florence and the Machine have set with their second album "Ceremonials" own bar upwards again (Yes, there seems to have been possible!). Thank you for these 20 deep, versatile songs, in which I now have the honor to lose the next year again. So music has to be: thrilling, exciting, multi-faceted, ...! Let's make it short: Florence and the Machine!
