Well, all but one injury. Barefoot-style running Means you have to land with a fore / mid-foot strike and this is quite a workout for the calf muscles and tendons associated. On getting my first pair of VFFS I was enjoying it so much did I ran too far (instead of taking it easy as everyone had recommended) and strained my calf muscles, Which Took a long time to recover.
So, what has this all got to do with CEP compression socks? I had signed up for a half marathon to be run Exclusively on asphalt, and I was a little bit Concerned about running a search distance on a hard surface in my VFFS. Would the calves withstand seeking a pummeling? Some 2/3 distance training runs had Proved a bit painful, with my calves beginning to cramp. I ordered some CEPs a couple of weeks before and They instantly made all the difference. They offer comforting support, the Claimed "increased blood flow" to the muscles Seems to do the trick with sustained strength and no cramping, as well as quicker recovery (I continue to wear them after long runs and even sleep in them (!) - The next day it's everything back to normal).
I was right on the borderline between Small and Medium According To Their measurements. After consulting CEP I went for the small size and They are "comfortably tight" - As They Should be, I reckon. The workmanship is very good and they 're surprisingly cool to wear even in hot weather. For long distances I would never run without them again. I rate them highly.
