This musical is for me one of the best that has ever brought a man into being. Not by chance was this to Lloyd Webber's world-renown for. Brilliant and catchy melody prone structures convincing especially in combination with the written by Eliot charming and lively texts. This German recording lets not of course to benefit from Eliot's texts, however, I find the German translation quite succeeded. It affects neither wooden nor compelled how unfortunately can experience it in music texts from time to time. Compared to the American version (The New Musical Cast) this version scores even with a meantime even more fluid and soulful musical implementation such as in "The old Gumbie Cat" (The Old Gumbie Cat). The singing artists are all high-caliber, particularly in Germany is likely to be about Ronnie Milsap known that really presented as cat Grizabella the song "Remembrance" (Memory) soulful. The sound quality of this recording, which dates at least from 1984, falling to as little negative, although of course they can not keep up to 100% with the high-end sound today's technology. Rounding out this work is by all text and black and white photos of the Vienna performance in the booklet. I suspect only real cats could have done it better ...
