Very spirited she manipulates the people around you, of course, only for their best - and that others take a little longer to the well to see to it they are just your own fault. Add to that a lively monkey, a sluggish Spanish Marquesa and a quarrelsome Cousin and you have a very entertaining novel. What Georgette Heyer particularly special is that you detail exactly the habits, manners, speech and fashion of each era outlined and in each of your novels takes on real historical events and real people with respect. Despite the liveliness it is not shallow! They copied a lot, but it is definitely unmatched.
