Cheap cooling solution

Since my Asus ROG (17 inches) has failed just a fan, I needed a quick fix.
The faulty fan the GPU temperature during normal operation was (surf the Internet) at 75 ° to 80 ° C. Then came a bit of added load made the laptop also equal to the opponent.

With the U3 reaches the temperature during normal operation max. 50 ° C. In games (eg Dragon Age), the temperature levels off at 96 ° to 98 ° C. It is thereby also not to heat-related crashes.

The fan of the U3 are even quieter than the fan of the laptop at full load. But just that the fans rotate constantly. But that's to get over clearly due to the current problems.

Ideal is that the three fans can be added individually. Thus, one can optimize the cooling performance.

Since I am but soon buy a new laptop (Asus ROG G751) I will then probably no longer use the U3. Firstly, because it is then no longer needed and, secondly, because it is just too steep to me and turn the fan in idle with full rotation.

But for the price it is really very good. For permanent use, but I would look for another solution, even if they would probably be much more expensive. Screen tilts and (ideally) software powered fan control. Thus I can only awarded 4 stars.

My laptop (425 mm wide) fits exactly the way the U3. Left and right, it concludes quasi shielded. For the conclusion of the front but I would like to see a small bar or the like. So the laptop from sliding beyond the shelf. While it does not interfere great, but would be a little useful improvement.
