Fit / seat:
The headset sits quite pleasant, the ear cups are not too tight, rather quite soft and make a little bigger ears good place. Even the strap is well adjustable - but after three months quite loose. The padding of the strap is not necessarily succeeds brilliantly. Pretty hard, extremely thin and not really comfortable. Whoever has hair, which is unlikely to attract attention so that bald men or very short hair, I would like once again explicitly say that can do really hurt!
Inside the ears a cheap-looking red-black mesh grille is attached the very rough and thin is - not a good workmanship and quality.
Interim conclusion: The headset can be accommodated in most heads, and only the very least it is a headache. Small heads with big ears, I would advise them, they will hardly be happy with this quite heavy part.
Software / sound / Surround:
For main point with a headset, the sound, you can say something in this headset.
Especially namely praise; For the price, the sound is really good. The basses are a bit exaggerated, according to the heights and go partially, but for everyday use it nearly enough. Mixes should be so is not, but that should be clear. For those after uncomplicated driver installation (more equal) want to use the headset for the first time: turn up the volume down! The SA-901 is really cursed loudly. On my laptop, I was able to leave the volume level between 10 and 20%. To illustrate: On 100% I could from 5 meters away during showering even with a closer listen easily listen to music.
Even with the voice quality, there are little to complain about, you understand each other well, even if the microphone has rushed at me from time to time. (And more on that later.)
The promised 7.1 surround sound you should not expect too much to. Of course it's not a "real" sound, but also because there is virtually but significantly better headsets. For the price but that should be obvious.
The software is good, works under Windows 7 Home Premium perfectly. The driver installation is done quickly, inserted CD, installed, reboot, hey presto - running. For "Funny", a vocal distortion is installed, with which you can surprise your friends. Small bonus point for the software.
Interim conclusion:
The SA-901 sounds better than it is believed and expected affords only when surround the barely functioning weaknesses. The software is installed simply and quickly - as it should be.
Processing / Quality:
Here comes the big downside of the huge anger has caused me.
The headset consists of felt 120% made of plastic. Here plastic was only used cheaper and it shows in all the corners and edges - it rattles, the micro swings too easily back and forth, you get the feeling that the ears fall off.
The cable is textilumhüllt, small bonus point, but that was about the only mini bonus point in this area. The remote feels extremely cheap and is probably held together by faith in it. Sure, I expect at this price no aluminum frame, but if there is a headset that you want to use every day feels almost like children's toys, it's not right.
But with the shell can live one, even with the wobble. What's a huge mess in my eyes that I already after three months of normal use had a broken cable. The occasional sound of the microphone, as mentioned at the sound, was already the first sign and eventually - Zapp! - Use has not stopped working. The sound is still come through, the micro is but over. After three short months. That is just under 8 per month, Pooh!
Endfazit:
The product gets me 2 out of 5 stars for quite pleasant sound quality and nice software, for the modest processing and the broken cable, I would like but the headset throw directly to the manufacturer. But maybe I just get a partially defective model.
