Comparing the current live version of this song with Cicero's earlier version with the group 'Soulounge', 2004, (from a time when Cicero still a so-called 'tip' was), you can hear now before a much more nuanced and exciting performance, the temporarily located dynamic overturns. The first part of the song intoned Cicero almost exclusively in first crystal clear 'falsetto tones. Later he changed to his usual tone of voice, and merged over five minutes ravishing jazz, soul and rock idioms to a perfect whole! A Cicero, who sings a soul track with as much passion - that's for sure for many lovers of confident Hutträgers a big surprise. But Roger Cicero had years ago with this song as a guest star on Germany's wonderful keyboard virtuosos Joja Wendt, then still without a hat, a brilliant appearance. (Can be found in 'youTube')
If this Prince song is to sing in all imaginable timbres, tones and greatly differing volumes was a challenge, as Cicero did this with flying colors. His 'fantastic' Big Band does the rest, and that is outrageous: How create eleven musicians such a bright and 'crazy-crashing' big band sound, is just terrific!
With this title Cicero was able to convince even those critics who else likes something mockingly dismissed his music as 'Swing imitations'. So soulful and devotedly was his admiration for Prince, that it seems almost acrobatic ... it says in a concert meeting.
The other two titles' "All the furniture crazy '' and especially '' The Experiment '' prove once again that the musical quality of Cicero and his big band is superior to the live studio versions. The Jazz is precisely its foundation, and the main characteristics of jazz, improvisation and experimentation can be best expressed in live concerts. '"The Experiment" z. B. in contrast to the studio version live a long instrumental part where pianist Lutz Krajenski, this time at the Hammond organ, the concert halls transformed into veritable pandemonium!
The video "'All the furniture Crazy"' displays beautifully Roger Cicero's matured stage presence and responsive mood of the audience. (Just to see on the PC)
So this new Maxi Single Cicero's is a bit of a different nature than his previous maxi-singles and offers a good look at his concert work.
