From classic trekking rucksack as Toploader on the suitcase backpack towards the trekking backpack with front opening, I've already tried everything in the last 15 years. And am now landed in Duffel. The trekking routes in the long term is much to wear have become manageable, I'm feeling really indeed more to the individual and flexible travel instead to the outdoor holiday with tent.
The Tatonka Duffel meets all requirements well, is extremely robust (truck tarp) and also looks good. The straps can be completely stowed away (hooray, the conveyor belts can no longer get to eat) and a little organization is through the mesh pocket under the lid and the two side compartments also there.
More Orga compartments would be nice, but with the Eagle Creek Cubes can also organize so well. The opening of the lid compartment is huge, I get all ran the same and have complete overview. The zipper is high quality, runs well and is lockable.
The material and the Verarbietungsqualität I trust to real longevity. I like the Duffel so good that I besides M (65l) still in S (42l) ordered - for travel to tropical areas extends to the 42L Duffel from.
The advantage vs. backpacking in my opinion is the handling. I can use the entire length / width of Duffel and also get a travel tripod into the compartment. When backpack then often interferes with the division between main and bottom compartment. And if one opens with the more expensive models ... you can also gloeich again Duffel pick.
My experience: Duffel and combined with good, trekkingtauglichem daypack (enough for me for WE tours) is the perfect combination for me.
I also had the TNF Basecamp Duffel ordered - and sent back. The two additional side pockets with Tatonka for me ausschlaggebened gfewesen - the rest as processing, handling etc was on par ggleich - with a slight advantage for Tatonka wg of mE better carrying system.
Oh yes, the price of the red Duffel was here really fair, the small S in black and I get in but another Webshop good 20 cheaper.
