Smearing wiper
===========================

The problem occurs even without RainX when the wipers are nothing. And without sealing it is necessary to wipe much more frequently so you do much more frequently to constantly streaks. With RainX (even if it has been for some time no longer refreshed) one is so much better off. With good wipers has no smearing of the disc. I at least not ... A little, when the effect approaches completion. But it will always be refreshed, so do not bother me.

Yes, that's right, the effect wears off. It is nunmal no permanent seal and therefore I call this as a 'normal'. Who ever despite sealing turns on the wipers, but then can not complain that the film will soon be rubbed well. One has to understand the principle. Give the water drop the chance again to grow a bit. She also pearls from and everything is good (from the bottom of the pane where you can not see through anyway, then constantly being rolled for drops and take the remaining, smaller drops). If you are constantly wiping, the drops are often just at lower speeds is not large enough to run off to. That is not to say that you can not wipe (sometimes you do not help), but many people wipe too often, because they place on the drop concentrating animals on the road. But that is a problem of the driver and not the product ;-)

I fresh as a layer after about 3 months. Since it is then ever about time, but you still have significantly less often than wipe completely without coating. Incidentally, it also helps to make sometimes between the disc just once clean. Over time some dirt sits but from which, of course, worsens the effect of sealing ... have the same effect wax and other substances from car washes ...

Hazy, blurred disks

Yes, which one, if you are not well polished. This can sometimes be a bit more complicated, but the more you do it, the better the effect later. According to the manual is intended to make the disc wet and then rub. Then it is also relatively good. I'm still several times with dry kitchen towel over it until the wheel is clear again.

Own experiences

I do not want you "aufschwätzen" RainX. I get any bonuses from the manufacturer. Nevertheless, I am fully convinced of the product. I could no longer "without". If I mitfahre in other cars (which have no coating), I am almost crazy. The rain covered the entire disc at once and even directly after the wiper is already all blurred again. At night it is, of course, is especially bothersome. Then, when the wiper is already a bit older or you were voher in the car wash, there is a "time smear" on the disc. I could not drive so and regard this as a high security risk.

Especially when it rains more and to drive higher speeds (from 60 km / h depending on wheel angle and airflow), you need absolutely no longer wipers. I'm already 100 km driven in heavy rain without wipe one time (even when starting, because the drops are usually so large that they are now gone or). In a downpour, I have to get off the throttle for maximum risk of aquaplaning, but not because of the wiper does not comply with (I do not need no). Often you have to do just more slowly, because the others see nothing more ... ;-)

Snow and ice remain, of course, not so strongly adhere to the disc, such as uncoated. And if you have to scrape the layer is even protectively on the disk, so this is not so much scratched.

Salt from the road is not a problem. If sufficient moisture is bubbled along with the water from the disc. Is it enough for it not from you or is too slow, is usually still a lot more water on the disk as if it were (since the water immediately wets the entire disk with a thin film that has to be wiped off) without coating the case. By sealing one has just dirty little drops of water. Most is by "normal" wipe everything away without washer. Occasionally you need it, of course, yes, but I'm often with a single charge throughout the winter ... (And no, I'm not driving 1000 km per winter ... ;-))

Grime such as dead flies, the time can not be in the summer now avoid, you get much easier to leave.

Of course, there are also a few "weaknesses", but which are inherently. For example, rain in city traffic. Sure, what should happen there ... The big small drops stay on the slice in the wind not nearly enough of in order to push away. The light from the street lights and oncoming traffic can break into the fine droplets and hidden. Yes, this is so. Since you can not get around it, but sometimes even to operate the wiper.

But how would it look because of no coating? The small drop wet immediately the entire disk and you see nothing more. Again, I need the wipers, in a much higher frequency than with coating! Lubrication, etc. included.

I also can not recommend for side and rear windows, the coating. Here one has generally not sufficient air flow to get all the water out of the washer. The result: the drops remain compact and the disc dry (eg without hatchback rear wiper) significantly worse than without coating. Although the need to try any myself, but bothers me there more than it would bring something. The same goes for the rear-view mirror.

I can recommend it but also for the (front) headlamps. There, the dirt will not stick so easily. So you see more and dazzle oncoming traffic less.

I use RainX consistently since about 7-8 years and have been consumed 3 bottles. The application was made partly on other vehicles. The yield is thus also in order that the price into perspective.

I can only recommend it so. Again, practice makes perfect. In my first attempt was at first not yet sufficiently polished, but after two or three applications has to "get the hang" and then it's just not impressive to see how well "the stuff" acts ...

Competitive products, I have not tested it and therefore can not offer a comparison. I see currently but also no reason to shift to another product and risking a possible disappointment. As already mentioned, the stuff you get as soon no longer down (is sense of it all). I am with what I get here, completely satisfied.
