Reckless had 6 single releases, which only the mid-tempo opener One Night Love Affair was no greater or charting radio hit. The aforementioned albums In The USA had to offer all less hits up to Born. With Kids Wanna Rock Reckless offers plus a later concert standard of Adam, who was not in any single and is still very popular.
The 5 big hits of the album are common property. In addition to Summer of '69 as yet the song over cheating (Run To You), the sing-along rocker Somebody, the duet with Tina Turner It's Only Love and the power ballad Heaven, which manages almost without the Adams later so typical kitsch.
With She's Only Happy When She's Dancing and Long Gone album has two other songs that Bryan Adams has later still enjoyed playing in concert. Reckless ends after crisp 37 minutes Is not Gonna Cry, the next Kids Wanna Rock hardest song.
The songs wrote Adams then all -genauso as on the predecessor Cuts Like A Knife and the successor Into The firewall with his songwriting partner Jim Vallance. On these 3 albums Bryan Adams had something like their own style, the 1991 Waking Up The Neighbours through the production and co-songwriting by Mutt Lange was doing something and completely lost on other albums. On Reckless Much is built around simple, very catchy and effective guitar riffs.
The double-CD deluxe edition of Reckless provides an additional 7 album outtakes. Mostly the songs as demos to hear. The majority of rocks quite well. The 10 original songs I like but still better. Only the somewhat sombre eponymous song Reckless stands out, which would not fit on the mood on the actual album. Let Me Down Easy sounds with his guitar chords and vocal melody as a preliminary study of Somebody.
Furthermore, the second CD offers even 15 songs from a concert in London in 1985. A downer offer the bonus tracks but, as the B-side Diana is missing, which was to be found on the Single / Maxi from Heaven.
The not too exaggerated remastering I really like.
Conclusion:
It says a lot about the significance of the album, when Bryan Adams in 2014 released an album of mostly cover versions, but his current tour to mark the 30th anniversary of Reckless then renames. Regarding Reckless right also the already mentioned song line with the Best Years Of My Life, as it then was musically not better at Bryan Adams. But the albums Cuts Like A Knife, Reckless and Into The Fire are still recommended.
