This is now a first Eindruch the boxes, which I will update over time.
The boxes were delivered in your standard packaging without any frills and have survived the trip without transport damage. Inside the box is a box each, a "User's Guide" and a small bag with metal spikes. The boxes come standard with rubber feet, this can however easily unscrew and replace the metal spikes. Why do that? Man "decoupled" from the boxes so that the flooring and avoid annoying vibrations. I think the average listener will festellen not much difference - but who does not like me has floor tiles, goes better with the spikes.
Visually make the boxes in Natura something more here than in the pictures. By the back rounded shape they look classy and different from the standard 0815 boxes, such as AEG. The "screen door" is removable and if it is not contrary to its own optical perception should also do this because it minimally affects the sound. Again, the average listener will certainly notice a difference.
The boxes have rear-firing tubes; they should put up with about 20-30cm distance from the wall to avoid rattling. Of course you should also install so that it forms with the listener an isosceles triangle to get the best sound experience.
That was also the first stimulus word ... as they sound then? To put it simply: good! ;) But first estmal the general setup. They are fueled by a Yamaha RX-V473 5.1 Receiver with support from a Yamaha NS SW 210 subwoofer. Everything certainly not a high-class equipment, for my purposes, but absolutely sufficient. The Hecos replace two smaller solid wood boxes that I bought 20 years ago and times where irgenwann times the Markenschildchen has dropped - so I have really no idea of what the manufacturers were now. ;)
At present the import is running on low volume, but a trend I can be derived, of course, already. I want to now not completely go into detail, but my first impression is very positive. The subwoofer I will surely be able to turn back a bit, the bass is ever OK and not just dull. The sound seems overall warm and homogeneous to me; using the example of Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits I would like to explain why I feel so. First of all loosen the Heco's very clear even small details such as snares and hi-hats on, that sounds easy clean for me. Both Mark Knopfler's voice and his guitar are finely accented reproduced and "float" in space; the location is excellent. The bass guitar is also finely accentuated and well resolved. As another example, I would like to quote from the Kings of Leon "Use Somebody" ... Caleb Followill has certainly an unusual voice, which is rendered absolutely brilliant and supporting and if there scratching something, then that's his vocal chords ^^. Again, the bass guitar grumbles subliminally, but not intrusive presence in front of him, while the lead guitar is shown crystal clear. Also displayed will be wonderful again the Hihat, supplemented by the snare drum. The bass is pleasant but somewhat brummeliger than in the Dire Straits. Here I am going to have to sub optimize and probably some playing around at the transfer frequency.
I'll upload the boxes over the weekend times in continuous operation on low volume and then give a little more juice on it and test the whole thing in home theater mode. Gravity will probably have to serve alongside Avatar since both films partly offer a very delicate soundscape, but it can also be a big bang.
Should continue the good trend, I will certainly correct my vote yet around a star upwards. But I am now convinced that these boxes for 130, - / piece definitely were not a bad buy.
Update 5:12:14: After importing the boxes have indeed risen again and are a bit softer and become more voluminous. Both in music and in film mode, the sound is outstanding clear, room-filling and perfect for my ears. Inwischen I have two pieces ordered to my surround speakers to replace the 701er. Also added is a 101-center, which replaces a Magnat Needle Alu Super Center. The sound experience and the spatial feeling is now that all LS Hecos are a completely different league than before. The evaluation was Hogen around a star upwards. Here you really get excellent LS for little money.
