With "Unclouded" Silje Nergaard has presented a beautiful new album. The Norwegian is accompanied by two guitarists, Hallgrim Bratberg and Havar Bendiksen, leaving plenty of room the unmistakable voice of Silje. At the same time they bring with their skillfully put forward sound fabrics, sometimes percussive played guitar sounds quite Private in the self-composed mainly of Silje Nergaard music. The music and Silje's voice in the foreground, but also prominent guests are allowed in each song to play, such as Nils Petter Molvaer and John Scofield, whose participation Silje was particularly proud. The spectrum ranges from the familiar intimate love songs from Silje own spring on the new scoring of classics ("The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress") and Norwegian and Norwegian-inspired songs to the cover of "The Killers" songs "Human". I must confess that I previously did not know this title and was amazed at how quite ordinary, rhythm-heavy pop song a heartwarming ballad is a (sorry, killer fans). The appeal of the CD is in the clear, distinctive voice Silje in conjunction with the reduced, wisely used instrumental accompaniment and the variety of music. As on previous productions one could argue splendidly again, if that's "still" Jazz, when so many other elements (folk, ethno ("Norwegian Boatsong" with Norwegian, but also Indian and Celtic flair!), Singing -Songwriting, pop, ...) can be heard. Silje Nergaard would such a discussion not care less, because she is simply about good music, beyond all drawers and genres. Even the title of the CD, "Unclouded", refers to its intention, her voice undisguised and of course to gain a hearing, a bit in the way children sing, carefree and spontaneous. This is their masterfully succeeded. Those who like their previous albums, is also this love because it combines new and familiar in a wonderful way.
