Music
=====
Old songs in new packaging. Part very well managed (eg "Rock You Like A Hurricane"), but in many cases close to the real hit. On the third hearing, I had to feel Dieter-Thomas Heck would jump on the stage to thank the musicians and say the TED-in number for the voting. Who does not like to believe: Just close your eyes and imagine in a tour bus with 60 seniors, the swaying just funny to Butterfahrt. Fits the music does not like chalk and cheese? Just in Track No. 5 "Born to Touch Your Feeling" closing the CD 1 eyes. Swaying as not tipsy Rotnasen in Musikantenstadel? And the audience claps rhythmically not bei Carmen Nebel on Saturday night?
The new song "Dancing With The Moonlight" is below average for the men who brought all the stages to run around and sweating ago. The choir would be able to save.
The low point of the CD is reached in "Where The River Flows" on CD2. Please Help, Carmen Nebel, and the boys a lad to you. This is difficult to sustain.
Performance
===========
Klaus Meine is in good voice. As said the presenter at 107.7 The Bone: "Klaus Meine - Such a small guy but what a big voice". Yep. Unfortunately, the somewhat comical German accent with him and Rudolf Schenker ("Love is the Answer") is at the acoustic songs a little more by than normal. Thus one can live. The band is playful. Soli sit well. No criticism here. The men and women had fun that night.
Sound
=====
Here I have to disagree with most of prescribing / inside. A quick look at the LoudnessWar DR database revealed strong compression and significant increase in bass and treble, resulting in the loss of momentum. DR Level 7 is bad (Dynamic Range 1-7 is considered bad). Completely unnecessary especially for an acoustic album. For the iPod, the phone or car entertainment ok. But keinsefalls for people with good equipment. Since CD affects surface-wide and fat, but has hardly depth (I stream lossless from the NAS to an Accuphase D / A converter).
Conclusion
=====
For a late work and two beautiful evening in Athens certainly ok. But I do not think fans of "Blackout", "Virgin Killer" or "Love At The First Sting" this board need in your shelf. The poor sound, which is just fat and never fine, scares me from genuine. The major providers adopt slowly from the dynamikbregrenzenden loudness blends - only to Sony itself does not seem to have the rumgesprochen. One CD for people who do not like (Hard) -Rock, but still would like to have a sort of "best of" from the Scorpions.
