Presentation
The graphics on the consoles clear slightly weaker, which manifests itself primarily in slight edge flares (at least sometimes) and poorer textures. Otherwise Bioshock Infinite has everything your heart desires. The first 'flight' over Columbia alone is a beautiful sight and every other scene that you enter in the 12-15 hour long campaign, beautiful to look at. The sound is the beautiful appearance in every way: the music is Bioshock typical of the times accordingly, weapons - and gifts sounds are absolutely correct. The German dubbing is very well done and consistent, neither the sound spokesman bored, yet they emphasize some sentences wrong and also many dialogues In addition, you can eavesdrop in Columbia sound, super and create a great atmosphere. German synchronization is also included, if that still does not appeal.
Story
Without giving too much away let me tell you that the story is class. It even plays Booker DeWitt, whose background and motivations long remain a mystery and unravel slowly. Bioshock Infinite has not the advantage of Bioshock: now is expected directly with a twist. The summit also comes, however, one may say this much: prepared one is not it, and not everything is served and answers on a silver platter. This provides for a space around themselves to form an opinion and think about it, as well as a motivation, even to start a run. Overall, the action is paired with the atmosphere simply masterly.
Gameplay
Now, a Bioshock had never the best 'shooter mechanics' but had always lived by action and atmosphere of the world. So it is in Infinite. The control is sometimes a bit spongy and hectic than in many an other representatives of the genre, but nevertheless one moves at a high level. The typical fight with weapon and Gift '(such as the' plasmids' Columbia are now called) via both shoulder buttons. What is new, however: while still having all of the gifts to carry around and you can select one carries only two guns around with them. Selbige can be via shoulder button quickly turn (as the gifts as well), but you should always pick up / find new weapons, if you want another. At first this sounds annoying, but you find the weapons this kind often that it is hardly noticeable. Ammunition for weapon types you keep fortunately, regardless of the ownership of the weapon.
The new countries are ultimately two features: the grappling hook, which serves both as a weapon for close combat, as well as a means of transportation on the train rails Columbia. The latter may sound annoying, but the ride is on the rails, as well as air attacks when jumping from selbiger, incredible fun.
The second new feature is Elizabeth. Selbige has the gift to open cracks. Same becomes a display and can hold the action button of her open. Ultimately, it all mean: old ammunition items, MG-towers, anchors for the hook or Med Packs are pulled through a crack in the here and now and can be used, including taking cover items such as wall pieces, etc. This is a nice, sometimes too strong feature, but you can get pretty thankful for it on the higher difficulty levels. There are four difficulty levels, one of which is unlocked during play through.
In just classic Bioshock-style can upgrade weapons, this time in more detail (ammo, weapon etc) also can be the 'gifts' to upgrade (better effects) and in himself more vitality, salt (quasi 'Mana') or the sign upgrade.
World
The world of Bioshock Infinite I like to emphasize the point again because it has become fantastic. Irrational Games has managed excellently to create a new world, a new breathe life into Dystopia. Columbia is not just Rapture in the air, it is a completely new, no less atmospheric scenario. Instead of decay and drug addiction has an ideal world, the abyss but still, in secret and hidden open up before you. One can just praise and admire at the site. Especially nice is the fact that the game initially can be 'a lot' of time to kidnap one in this world, before the first place you go firefights.
Conclusion
Bioshock is currently the shooter par excellence. Who loved part 1, can not get to that part. Irrational Games has created a masterpiece which comes in proper decisions, moral issues, atmosphere, a dense story and a living world. Here, the game is never predictable or monotonous and white over the entire period of 12-15 hours to entertain and persuade. Criticisms can be found without doubt in the optics and the stagnant nunmal behind Far Cry or Crysis gameplay. But who knows Bioshock and buys it does primarily because of other things. 10 out of 10 stars, absolute buy recommendation.
