It's finally here. The wait is over and the new BioShock appeared.

It is the year 1912. We are Booker DeWitt, a former soldier and Pinkerton agent.
"Bring us the little one and pay off the debt ..."
But what we have come to be guilty and who is our client ?!
One thing is certain, however: the "Small" is Elizabeth, imprisoned in a tower, guarded by a huge metallic bird, the Songbird. Sounds like a suicide mission and that it is also literally ....

This time we explored not again Rapture with all its mysteries, myths and strange shapes, but Columbia. An American city sky, which was created by Zachary Hale Comstock and is revered by his people as a prophet.

First of all, the beginning is unusually friendly. No Splicer but clean dressed citizens who comment daily life and also not stingy with small talk. You can reach Columbia on the day a parade, strolls through a fair, can do there in mini-games with the familiar control and can act upon, the new setting easy.
After two adventures in Rapture it's been a good idea to change this, because almost everything about Rapture was then in many hours and told one be revealed: as bright and friendly as at the beginning remains Columbia not until the very end. While tending the creepiness towards zero, but the developers create again an oppressive and persistently exciting atmosphere, which can be measured without a doubt with the predecessors.

Back to Year Mark, because here quickly crumbling facade Columbia and showed us his questionable moral concepts, racism and fanatical religiosity and blind devotion. Half the city is quickly behind us and the adventure takes us to diverse scenarios, which are all shown impressively and with great attention to detail. Giant statues, various busts, lease full buildings, balloons, zeppelins, but the downside of this, a descent into the underground, the slums ... because where a "top" is, there must be a "bottom" and the people from "Down" to covet, want change, want revolution.

Gameplay ...
is unmistakable BIOSHOCK. Links plasmids, which are referred to here as "Vigors" or simply forces or gifts, the right weaponry. The "Vigors" can be at any time if you have found this, call and change, without the libraries known to date.
About two forces may be available simultaneously. Two weapons can be carried simultaneously, you collect ammunition for all available types of weapons. The armament is generally quite strong (mostly classical as revolvers, carbines, MG, shotgun), so that you temporarily rarely relies on his powers. These bring little new total. Six out of eight "Vigors" are an adaptation of the previously known plasmids. So we can indeed revert to effective firestorms and Electrobolts and from the I greatly Swarm was a flock of crows, but it could calm some can be longer. There are now combos that stand up really worthwhile and some forces should turn out to be the case at the end of the game as a real blessing.

Opponents diversity is adequate, but leaves plenty room for improvement - the well should still prevail in Columbia - to: "Motorized Patriot", the "Boys Of Silence" or "handyman" are known from the trailers. Otherwise you have regular follow suit with police, fighters of Vox Populi, or the "Firemen". Overall, the fighting could have been designed a bit more varied, but also what was suffering its predecessor somewhat. It is also a shame that apart from the "Motorized Patriot" rarely encounters other heavyweight opponents.

Hacking does not occur in Bioshock Infinite. Nevertheless can be about the power "Posession" briefly not only opponents, but also known as fixed installations or armed balloons, "mosquitoes", make docile.
I myself do not miss the hacking, although I had the method of Bioshock 2 a lot better than it was found in the first part.
Vending machines are already to be found at the beginning in heaps and those who invest time into Search, ought quite rarely in financial distress.

The Sky-Hook, which will turn out to be melee weapon, can now swing over so-called. Sky-Lines from A to B. Sometimes has to be moved to the next destination, but they are in one or another battle also to tactical purposes. The lawn with the Sky-Lines is fun, allows an even greater view of Columbia and all the trappings. Maybe they lose some of its attraction towards the end, but round off the story and the setting.

WHAT THE ARTWORK IS CONCERNED ...

The whole thing is probably minimal polished compared to its predecessor. From a distance, most things look from excellent, up close sometimes something grobpixelig, especially when things get a little darker. The water white as usual to please, the lighting effects really liked me.
The text doors are rather muddy, but legible. However, all graphical weaknesses are far from the supposed PS2 Vergleichskrakeelern in my eyes.
The facial expressions of most people is a bit stiff and expressionless, but much effort was introduced to Elizabeth really given their capture different moods.

THE SOUND ...
is good. No more, no less.
The soundtrack and the scores for the most part re-composed by Garry Shymann are already beyond doubt. Weapons and "Vigors" sound good. In the menu, it is advisable, however, at the beginning manually rectify and change according to personal preferences. The background music sounded but arg the dialogues.
The German dubbing is very well done. Nothing is contrived or awkward translated.

CONCLUSION:
Bioshock Infinite is anything but a disappointment and a very Fre continuation of the series.
Of course, one could on the basis of the many trailers and pre-gameplay videos more innovation hope as it has become in the end. The skylines are the end but only a means to an end, the well-known plasmids dive ultimately on in their known form, and some conditions do not seem logical: whoever throws money into trash? Why can unmolested loot cash registers I at first, but later not? Why should the "Vigors" originally intended?
I even missed surreal sequences such as the Martha-Stewart-waste, which swept the porch of her burning house or to crash the fight against Handyman, who had been with Elizabeth together, including bridge. Both could be admired in the first video of 2010.
Personally, I would have a little less physics and more Ideological, perhaps even deeper excesses and manifestations of Fantismusses really liked.

But all these are compared to the overall experience BIOSHOCK really only trifles. There are exciting, detaillreiche and really imaginative scenarios, the story with their spirit and their expressions it creates again, the player to pack literally, the characters Booker and Elizabeth, which can suffer with us and cheer, make it, the voltage across the entire season maintain that transported Zeitgeist is tangible, revolutionary masses that fascinate at the same time and destroy and much, very much more spare for smaller weaknesses and inconsistencies. Who takes the time to discover and marvel at Columbia, the whole allusions, ideas and little things do not want to miss out, which provides a good gaming experience between 12-18 hours, depending on pace.
BIOSHOCK will remain a reference and be strong contender for the "Game of the Year" - and quite rightly!
