Now to the S5 S-view Cover: The S-view Cover of the predecessor S4 was a cool part. It replaces the original rear back by identical looking back, and because of Flipteil is attached for the front. In principle, it was therefore an original back cover, as it is already standard goes into the device, plus "flanged" flip.
Now one would think actually that does not deteriorate much about this concept (actually much better not). But far from it - you can (Samsung). The cover for the S5 is namely no longer from this combination of original back cover plus flip, rather it is more like the well-known "Book Style" -Covern. Since the S5 in contrast to the two predecessors finally reused a back with a sensible feel, you, the device takes up very happy in his hand, and it is there also very good. The S-view Cover for the S5 would therefore ideally should be as the previous one original S5 Back Cover plus flip same. Instead, it is a synthetic leather part that does not work nearly as well in the hand as the original back cover. Furthermore, it is beyond the edges of the device, which will probably improve the edge protection. Unfortunately, it looks not only stupid, the device is thus additionally poor in hand because you just touched this relatively sharp edges of the cover.
The statement of Product Description "Replace the battery cover in look and feel" is in my opinion quite misleading. If you know the S4-Cover, you will be close from this formulation probably that this cover back looks exactly like the original back cover - as it was just too at S4. But this is just not like that. Although the cover also replaced the battery cover - but also an unfortunate by the much poorer appearance and feel that it brings.
Through this cover therefore is one of the biggest improvements in the S5 compared to the S4, namely the much better look and feel of the back, made completely destroyed. The smooth leatherette covers this feels similar to cheap (just different) as the backs of the two previous Galaxys.
As if that were not enough, comes as a further disadvantage of this design, adding that the cover when it was open, not directly closes properly again. In the previous cover could not happen because Flipteil and BackCover failed here, a continuous part, but of two different parts. Is it possible to somehow hard to describe, but who knows the previous cover, know what I mean. Here, however, absorbs the front part when closing always first again a bit upwards. By the time "puts" it then, but great is something else.
As a fan of the S4 S-View covers this one is for me really the ultimate crap. This part goes back. If the Koreans, who has designed, an honorable man would, he would move to a monastery and remain silent for the rest of his life ...
