1. Design
Of course a matter of taste, I find it a bit annoying but at Samsung that the Aux and USB port are located under the flap. In use, the valve must therefore remain open, which is ugly.
2. Sound
The clear winner: Samsung
The sound is full, a 1A quality for this price!
A noise at low volumes, in both systems the same audible once one is 3 meters away from the plant or the music does not stop at the lowest volume, it is no longer perceptible.
3. CD drive
For me as an audiobook listener is an important criterion.
When Samsung's CD drive is incredibly noisy! This can, however, easily fix by a thicker piece of fabric (I have taken a towel) under it sets or something else Acoustic, there are certainly more elegant solutions.
In the Philips drive is significantly quieter, but again I have something to complain about: The result when you play the CD quite highly frequented noise, which, although quieter than that of the Samsung plant including sound insulation is, for me but this clearly. disturbing!
4. Handling
This point is clearly to Philips. Only the remote control of Samsung is a joke, which is probably connected with the fact that you can also play DVDs on it. Since this is an unnecessary additional function for me, I have but ncoh not further tested.
Conclusion: if you can live with a sound, or turn off the system anyway on sturdy wooden wants (or CDs eh never ceases) should decide in my opinion for the Samsung MM-E330D.
If that is too ugly, but the CD-ROM drive is also important and can be waived sound quality, the Philips should watch MCM2150 / 12 closer.
