've Never actually written a review, although I have benefited me a lot of online shopping it. The following is my first review. German is not my mother tongue, so if there is ambiguity, I ask in advance for your understanding.
So on 2 products: X-FI Go Pro and X-FI HD external:
I have a Sennheiser HD 595 Headphones (50 Ohm version, bought 2008) and a Logitech 5500 (previously also times 5450 Wireless), am Hobby music listeners, movie fan and also play PS3. Handset with headset normally pop and rock (alternative as Coldplay, Keane, Angels & Airwaves, U2, etc.) and thus watch movies. The information about my musical style or my plants should only serve it, my application to you to interpret clearly.
Have therefore the X-FI Go Pro bought in the beginning because the stereo input of my laptop was broken. Always have my Sennheiser connected with Umstecker the computer, but the Umstecker the headphones is quite big and hard that it 2 my headphones stereo inputs wrecked (once with my old Audigy ZS 2 sound card, the old version of the notebook sound card then still PCMCIA and once in my notebook HP G62 with Realtek HD). Just wanted a little better sound solution with a new stereo input. The X-Fi Go Pro meets these expectations completely: It is easy and chic, the USB cap was joined by a Kable per se and can be go never lose. The sound effect is a little better than my Realtek HD onboard sound card and what I personally found super, it is that the X-FI Go provides a much clearer voice quality when the microphone was. I quite often use Skype for Internet Phone Call and make a big difference, the "Go" represents. Super! Unfortunately, I have not a computer game with me, and the EAX 4.0, I can not evaluate anything.
When I got the "Go", me and the X-FI HD USB card had fallen into the eye. Although the two have the same MPU, features the "HD" supposedly "HD" devices and especially a headset amplifier with proper headphone jack. I wanted to try if the "HD" better performance of my Sennheiser HD 595 submissions as compared to the "Go" and my "Realtek HD onboard".
The answer is clearly "Yes, Yes, Yes". For comparison, I have taken various songs and movies. For example: music: Coldplay Viva La Vida; Adele Turning Tables; The Killers Mr. Brightside Live; Movie: Inception (Digital Copy with AC3), Ratatouille (DVD), etc. Of course, sounds of "HD" thanks to the amplifier much louder than the "Go", but even if you regulate the voice to the same level, one notices the difference: by the amplifier can sound at the same volume represent much more detailed. The bass is much deeper, and the midtones are better balanced. When high, the volume, then you can hear the movie "Inception" a nice spatial sound with powerful sound pressure. So it's of detail ago definitely better than my Logitech 5500 and exceeding of the matter also the spatiality 5500 far. But be careful, it does not decode Dolby or DTS file and provides 5.1 channel sound, no!
Have also tried the "HD" to connect with my PS3. The "HD" offers an optical input, which I have connected directly to the output of my PS3. Unfortunately, it works only partially: when only "PCM, and stereo" crosses the sound setting, you can already in the XMB menu to hear the sound. In some games there are real music and sounds. But it has unfortunately in the Call of Duty II, Heavy Rain and all MP3 songs in the PS3 is not working. We hear there no sound (tried everything when you connect the PS3, even with Creative Entertainment Center in the optical input to and-abgekreuzt as an audio source; have all sample rates: 44.1, 48, 96 attempts, unfortunately :(). You can see it again try this link there is a manual in English, exactly how you should connect the "HD" with PS3: http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Sound-Blaster-System-SB1240/dp / B004275EO4 / ref = cm_cr_pr_pb_t (Great sub 100, can be a pain set-up ...)
So again a list of the 2 products:
"Go":
+ Easy and chic
+ Cheap and good sound quality
+ Much better quality microphone
+ Very good on the go
- Does not differ much from the Realtek HD
"HD"
+ Really noticeable differences when compared with the "Go" and "Realtek" (headset must be good)
+ Optical input and output
+ Headphones no longer needs Umstecker (right headphone input)
- Costs a bit more
- No Dolby decoder and 5.1 channel outputs
- Unfavorable for the Road
with me there were difficulties in the decision, but at the end I have not the two reserve (luckily: P). I opted for the "HD", and so this review had come to the registry. Nevertheless, I recommend "Go" to the friends who has no semi-HiFi Headphones or place a lot more value to use on the go, "Go" will bring you a little more fun before the journey! If you like the music / film direction as I have, you can also to the "HD" thinking.
Thanks! : P
