My previous countermeasures:
1. eyelet trimmed and subsequently repainted
2. Contrary to the manual I have the eyelet mounted so:
- Bottom (with the ridges) upwards
- Pull belt and fastened that the third slot points away for the strap of the Kameraöse
The deep scratches on the status display so far I could only alleviate by Display Polishing.

My situation: I drag over 2kg Camera + long lens around (also on longer trips). The original camera belt always serves me as a backup in case something slips from my hand, but I do not trust him and the camera depends uncomfortable, but I think the camera all the time fixed.
This hand strap is now offering me the following improvements:
- Easier wearing the wrist strap takes some of the load and support the hand when gripping the camera body. If it should break times, I still see the chance to quickly access and avert the overthrow
- So worn, the camera is always quickly ready to fire
- (Should sit so closely) The entry into the loop always takes a little
- Sophisticated accessories
Disadvantages:
- To change lenses or remodeling of the camera (filters, flash, ...) you have most of the loop out (= no protection against falling), here the strap is better. Fortunately, the Delamax an additional slot, thus also the camera strap can be attached (but I think in this combination of rather disturbing because the harness when carrying the camera far herunterbaumelt with the hand strap - tripping hazard)
- Schwitzige hands and leather eventually lead to a slight odor. Washing has not been tested.
Note:
Unlike the original wrist strap Canon is a guide and is a battery grip is not needed. Instead, the Delamax brings wrist strap with an adapter is screwed into the camera thread and in its turn provides the camera thread for tripod mounting.
