Feel and content:
Unspectacular in a flat cardboard box with the power supply, cleaning cloth and Stoffbeutelchen to dust the WeTab is delivered.
An ultra short manual is also the device. At first I was disappointed about it, but later it turned out that is even more not needed. Everything is self-explanatory.
The device itself is safe in the hands and can due to the rear coating hardly slip out of same.
Commissioning:
Plug in and turned on. First commissioning is even the most inexperienced user no prior problems.
Everything is clearly explained and errors are almost excluded. The compulsory registration is annoying and in my opinion, completely unnecessary. The only creates paranoia among the general population and for yet arrived from Schäuble really ;-)
The complete setup with updates is done in about 30 minutes.
The Operation:
At first I was kind of excited about the little guy, that I dismissed the negative statements about the device as utter nonsense. Except for the statements on the display, I was totally disagree. Because the display is really considered an imposition from the viewpoint ago. The resolution is really great for such a device, which, however, hardly anything good is if you do not head stares out. A very big point of criticism in my eyes!
The operating system works relatively well. Unless you really going on "Youtube". Since it can not even look smooth with 360s resolution a video is. Luckily it prepares zuzuladen no major difficulties Firefox or Google Chrome. This video then can easily be seen even up to a resolution of 480. Question: But why do I need a different browser to that? Should not that can innately its own operating system?
The virtual keyboard is not available, the next point of criticism. This worked pretty well at first, but the more I haute in the key, the more I noticed the autonomy selbiger. At long letter I realized namely, the letters on the screen showed that I had just flown over and never typed. I have tried several times and it was not because of me!
To terminals:
Abundant and easy to use. Whether USB flash drive, external DVD drive, mouse, printer, hard disk .... anything goes !!!
Plus a normal SIM card from the mobile insert is great possibility.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is of course available as well as a slot for SD cards. Still great :-)
Here the WeTab collects enormous plus points !!!!
The predetermined or downloadable apps are not in any case be construed as such. While an e-book reader is for me to the apps, just include other "clickable sign" not to apps but for links. As the default "Youtube", "Tagesschau" and "Amazon" button. These links I'm less space in Firefox in the Favorites or "Bookmarks".
The battery lasted the first operation only briefly. After repeated charging more. Here is a brief overview:
-In normal operation (read only) 5,5 hours
-In normal operation (including W-Lan Internet -. Read only and request pages) about 4 hours
-In wireless connection incl Videoabspielung and sound approx. 2 - 2.5 hours
CONCLUSION:
A WeTab replaced in my eyes no notebook. It is in contrast, smaller and more manageable.
As a book reader but useless, because then again too clunky. Is it a definite bookish and Flies
8 weeks on vacation, but it is handier than take the whole Michael Crichton reading.
For me personally is the WeTab, as well as the iPad, a "must have" product represents. Stylish but half-baked.
In the present version currently my only worth 3 points unfortunately.
BUT: It is upgradeable and when to give the developers a little more effort and invest time, then what could be really good out of it. Then I change to make my vote! But at this point I see my vote to be justified.
