In this review I want to make a direct comparison to my previous machine, DeLonghi ESAM3000.B.
The KRUPS costs today, 06.05.2014, at Amazon EUR 325.00, while there is the DeLonghi for EUR 280.00.
I believe in both machines is relatively similar models from different manufacturers.
Follow the advantages of the machine.
At first I would like to list the advantages of the KRUPS machine:
The KRUPS machine has a Wasserentkalkungs system, the first cartridge is not included in the delivery (at least for me). The cartridges cost approximately EUR 10.00 from Amazon if you buy individually, in sets of 5 cartridges costs between EUR 21.00 and EUR 30.00. For me a 'nice-to-have' but not a must. Nevertheless, I count it as a benefit.
The water temperature is adjustable at the KRUPS machine. In direct comparison, I was very surprised at how much warmer was the espresso from the KRUPS machine compared with DeLonghi.
The minimum amount of water is slightly less than that of the minimal DeLonghi at the KURPS. This makes the espresso a little stronger. I love that!
The KRUPS machine is the housing forth a good deal smaller than the DeLonghi. The act makes you more attractive. Certainly an advantage if you have limited space available.
The descaling tablets at KRUPS are very favorable (10 pieces at Amazon currently EUR 9.99). For the DeLonghi machine I take a descaler of Swiss Espresso, here cost approximately EUR 7.50 2 bottles. The DeLonghi I needed because I suppose entklaktes water run only 1 time per year with the descaling process. The frequency at the KRUPS I have currently owe and can therefore perform only the price of the descaling agent.
Now follow the advantages of machine DeLonghi:
When the DeLonghi Abschaltautmatik can also be programmed under one hour (15/30/45 minutes), at KRUPS is 1 hour, the shortest. Since I am a single household, I think 15 and 30 minutes for me ideal. Therefore, the advantage of DeLonghi.
The water tank is back at the KRUPS machine. For me, unfortunately, not favorable, since I have you stand under a shelf. Is at the Delonghi on the side. This is convenient for me.
The brewing head is unfortunately permanently installed at the KRUPS. When DeLonghi machine this can be easily removed and cleaned.
The DeLonghi machine flushes automatically when switching on and off of the unit (once the on / off key and off you go). When KRUPS machines the rinsing with a separate button must be started. This Faste is also present in DeLonghi, but not really necessary.
The enclosed operating instructions are incomplete. For me important points - setting the water temperature, water hardness and the timing of switch-off - is found only in the complete manual on the Internet at KRUPS. The PDF file is also designed particularly clearly. In DeLonghi all information is attached to service and setting in printed form (friends of mine bought the machine in Nov. 2013 - of this state, I refer in my statement).
The DeLonghi machine is faster after marking available as the KRUPS machine. The difference is about 30 seconds to 1 minute
Likewise, the Cafe is faster after you press the button in the DeLonghi machine in the cup than at the KRUPS. Here I had the direct comparison. I had first started the KRUPS machine and approximately 2 - 3 seconds later, the DeLonghi. The espresso was when DeLonghi already completely in the cup before has ever come out in the KRUPS Cafe.
The milk foam preparation is to evaluate neutral for me. The operation at the KRUPS machine is minimal simple, but I slightly larger cleaning effort compared to DeLonghi. The foam is identical. That reminds me of the cleaning effort is too great and the foam of both machines is not strong enough, I use many years a separate device for frothing milk. Wherein the foam with two machine is strong enough for a nice cappuccino.
If I abwäge the pros and cons of receiving the KRUPS machine for me only 4 stars, while I would give the DeLonghi 5 Stars. Maybe out is because I have the DeLonghi now a long time and know by heart.
For me this are the permanently installed brewing unit, which can not be cleaned (once set in an old engine of mine mold - this was of Jura) and the longer duration of the cafe and the time are the machine is not available, the decisive reasons ,
All in all my negative points no knockout criteria. Safe for a single or 2 Perone budget a great device. The exact points must always weigh yourself.
After I could not yet assess the KRUPS machine with respect to descaling, care etc. for the short time that I have this still supply later.

23 days later, I wanted to provide a minor update in a short version.
I stick to my opinion of 4 stars.
Below my highlights (+) and disadvantages (-) of the machine:
+ Very hot Cafe (temperature adjustable)
+ Amount of water for Cafe preparation Einstellbr well over the wheel on the front side
+ Very compact machine (to save space)
+ Good, accessible beans essay
+ Drip tray / shelf easily accessible (Just for emptying harausziehen and then reinsert)
o the pomace is easily accessible, but you have also the red thrust face remove (when the receiving tray is removed, is on this
the word CLEAN), so that the counter is reset (is poorly described in the manual). Good accessibility and the
bad description induce me to abandon a neutral rating
o longer preparation time
o Spühlforgang only by pressing a button (with many other machines automatically when entering and / or off)
- Cleaning rod for cleaning operation needed (Price kanpp under EUE 1.00 per piece)
(- Must be removed upwards rear) - Poor accessibility of the water tank
- No way to see inside the machine (I could with my old, so important for me - perhaps totally subjective)
I realize 5 positive, 3 neutral and 3 negative points for me.
When I think of my old machine, then I've got a similar relationship.
I hope I could help you more - I like convincing positive the machine after 3 weeks of daily use of the machine.
