The instructions are simple and clear.
** Device **
In itself, it is relatively large, similar to a bread machine for an idea of comparison.
It comes with:
- 2 potholders to avoid burns,
- A "fishy" that allows the service, I also had some questions about the small holes, but eventually I found an explanation: empty the overflow sauce! So thoughtful!
- Spatula
- A steam basket: the holes are big enough and far between. (Will can be revised later?)
- "Glass" measure
The tank is non-slip, easy to clean, and passes without any worries in the dishwasher. I do not prefer this washing mode because it takes quite a lot of space. I find the fastest hand washed.
The device itself does not go in the water: there is a pretty big label written reminder to the back of the device.
** The recipe booklet supplied **
The recipes are varied and use all functions.
I enjoyed seeing some were spicy paprika, curry, ginger, etc. We are no longer in the register of bland or impractical recipes I found them quite current with ingredients found in closets and easy achievements.
I have also tried 13 dishes on the 35 proposed.
Including:
- Rice: cooked perfectly, not attached to the bottom.
- Yogurt: recipe provided in the booklet relates to lower pots in size to 6.5 cm. In the leaflet, the recipe is different and can use conventional yoghurt pots. They must be put directly into the tank lid closed. Although very skeptical, I was thrilled with the result. They have also not last long.
- Cooking vegetables to stifle
- Chicken Basque way: with a tender and perfectly cooked chicken
- Rice pudding: a simplicity to successfully
- Soups: no need to monitor
- The cake: does not replace a conventional oven, but the result is quite satisfactory.
** In practice **
The handling is quite simple.
I especially like:
- The fact of moving from one function to another. There are fewer dishes to do in the end especially when the accumulated fry / cook / oven: rather significant.
- That the monitoring of the cooking is not an absolute necessity in most recipes and that once the timer, the device stops the cooking mode and goes into "stove." It is perfect for a meal near (hot) return to school for lunch for example.
- The cover can be opened at any time, by cons you should know that the condensation that forms with steam, flows to the base of the cover (as it would with a lid on the pan). There is a kind of laugh that goes around the top of the tank. it wipes very well with a cloth.
- The carrying handle: easy to store.
- That all accessories can be stored inside when finished. it avoids having to find a multitude of additional storage.
- I find it reassuring at cooking: no risk of burns to children, but watch out for us with steam coming out of cover ;-)
In terms of quantity, 5L bowl can suit families up to 6/7 adults easily. Beyond that, I do not guaranteed capacity.
My caveats:
- It is not possible to turn back on once the way we press "off", even if by mistake.
- I scratched the tank slightly, despite the constant use of the spatula, and without exaggerating when "Stirring". So I prefer to use my silicone spatula (Mastrad F15000) and thus the risk is "no" and I have not heard from scratches.
- The appliance switches off completely when it is unplugged. It's a habit, and can be more beneficial for the device itself but to stay connected at all times.
** Conclusion **
In conclusion, it can completely replace my rice-cooker (electric and microwaveable), my steamer, my yogurt and 1 or 2 pans. There still has a space saving of the blow. He find a place in my kitchen, and guaranteed resale of some of my devices!
Given what he served during those 3 weeks, I recommend this device entirely.
I find the same ideal gift for a housewarming, for youth who moves into an apartment, for mothers (and fathers!) Families who want to simplify their lives.
