It is very difficult to produce the lens at close range up to approximately 1 m sharp images, unfortunately, the focus often sits a few millimeters in front of or behind the targeted point, at the small depth of focus I need 100% accuracy. In the test setup I have the front / back focus analyzed and found significant differences, as great as I have not experienced so far with a 50 (5-10mm forward or backward depending on aperture). Unfortunately, not correctable with the AF fine adjustment that leaves nothing to correction by the aperture value, possibly, the then the D800, also a business model ...
I like taking pictures in nature, is the 50s for both landscape, as well as exempt details the best focal length. In the latter, the AF-S 50 1.G fails for my application.
It may be that I caught a bad copy, but that's why I buy Nikon - so I do not have to organize exchange orgies.
